What does a sheltered and repressed schoolgirl retain as her creative outlet? She establishes independent study of all the greats: Versace, Donna Karan, Kevyn Aucoin, Bobbi Brown, Jeanine Lobell et al. by reading every art, fashion and makeup book and magazine. She travels the world to learn from different cultures and customs. She scours every department, drugstore and pharmacy for products. In her bathroom, with show tunes blasting, is where it all culminates on her canvasses—her friends’ faces. Sculpting brows and cheekbones, shadowing and lining eyes, nothing thrills her more. She applies her voice student discipline to practicing looks. Instead of interpreting others’ work on stage, she creates her very own visages.
All of her efforts have resulted in freelance assignments with Stila, Bobbi Brown and Smashbox cosmetic companies. She is frequently requested to participate in independent films, photo shoots, trade and runway shows. Most notably, she is the resident makeup artist for the metal group Ashentide. She also delights in contributing in special events such as quinceñeras, dances, galas and weddings in her studio and on location.
Thank you for stopping by and have a pleasant visit.
